An evocative journey through Techno varied facets, which meets and silently embraces Progressive and Psy elements. Groovedesign also known as DJ Emiliano is a pure representative of the Underground Electronic Movement and Culture and an ambassador of these values to the world. A free thinker and a true cosmopolitan his life and career, divided between city, jungle and islands across Europe and Asia, has unfolded often overlapping, following a rather unconventional path. Sound as a psychedelic and transcendental experience has always been his main focus and still is. The EP opens with Labyrinth which is a creation tale in scientific terms featuring a Big Bang theory narration by Terence McKenna own deep voice, further processed by Groovedesign to mimic altered state of consciousness and inter dimensional realms. The drop is intense. In the most authentic Groovedesigns vibe it comes to a complete stop where Mckennnas voice simply liquifies, before starting a new build up in to the second part of the track where all themes find a reprise. A mature expression of interconnectedness between genres and crossover experimentalism. 'Nineveh is groovy piece of art! We love its relaxed approach to exploration between Techno/Progressive and some amazingly Blues sounding moog riffs. Its synth melodies overlap to create a layered craftwork which diverts and diversifies from the original theme, winking at Dubstep's wobbling sounds and Psychedelic Rock/Blues atmospheres. The distinctively Techno frame deployed by Classic Roland TR 909 Drum Machine and off beat chunky bass line, make this track unique and very difficult to box in any pre conceived genre you may have come across. Secret Knowledge is the core of Vol 2 and perhaps the best example of what Groovedesign loves to call Psychedelic Techno. A solid Detroit Techno 4/4 pounding beats at 135 BPM is the carrier of a volcanic rolling bass line, a flow of magma and liquid lava of synths, arpeggiators and effects that takes over for a long 9.32 min ride.... The main theme being of Progressive/Trance heritage is filtered, processed and arranged in a way that only Techno is capable of. The drop is once again Groovedesigns best asset and it is surprisingly cool in its unfolding. We recommend to play it loud. An excellent choice for a true dance floor blast!!! Aurora is a gentle tribute to the morning hours dj sets and communicates a feeling open space and deep entanglement with Nature. It devolves around a central synth line which serves as percussive pattern as well as dubby chords and trippy pads and is accompanied by a funky bass line and housey moog organ for a very suggestive and intriguing result. Overall Psychedelic Techno Vol. 2 complements effectively Vol.1 and defines Groovedesigns goals and strategies. The artistic choice of this album is uncompromisingly honest. A solid old school Detroit Techno 4/4 complemented by extended ultra low frequencies bass lines are the foundations to grooves and ambiences which range from pure Techno to Dark and Deep into Progressive and Psychedelic vibes which are carved in this matrix and masterfully crafted to create a complete 4D experience called by Groovedesign himself 'Psychedelic Techno'. Finally it is paramount to underline the effortless sobriety of the album.
