PSYCHEDELIC TECHNO VOLUME 1 PRESS RELEASE Artist GROOVEDESIGN Remixes by BAHAR CANCA EXH -IBZ EP (6 Tracks) W A V/MP3 TECHNO/PROGRESSIVE/PSY ELEMENTS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 18 JUNE 2015 AN EVOCATIVE JOURNEY On June 18th 2015 it will be released the first part of the long awaited debut album of DJ Emiliano aka Groovedesign: Psychedelic Techno Volume 1. An evocative journey through techno varied facets, which meets and silently embraces progressive and psy elements. Groovedesign started his long running career during the legendary nineties and established himself in the Italian Club scene as a genuine underground representative, deejaying in the most iconic clubs alongside House music founding fathers and Techno pioneers. A conceptual DJ whose peculiarity is to present a journey for all the fellow clubbers to share and feel. Emiliano is currently experimenting with Tristep Techno, and Progressive/Psy Elements in collaboration with Bahar Canca and Ehx-Ibz. Next live performances summer 20015 @ Sonica, Ozora (Psy Boutique Day) and Scatology Events. Psychedelic Techno Volume 1 is an experiment of genres, an exquisite celebration of the underground movement, which collects the remains of the Club Culture and makes them co-hexist. Psy elements, powerful beats and highly hypnotic grooves dark and Gothic at times, all united and all rigorously framed in the most refined old school techno fashion. Six powerful tracks to portrait an evocative journey; ancient familiar sounds define the journey itself, still, new vibes arise... ISIS Opens the Ep setting up the standards of the music about to unfold. The most techno of the album, with its 130 bpm makes the personality of the journey come out. A classic Four on Four with the bass serving the kick and the power of the TR909 making it an old school ride. Unusually, this track build up the tension by taking off elements rather than adding them. A true expression of intriguing aggression. MARDUK at 132 Bpm is a step forward into contamination and experimentalism. In this track the solid Techno beat is complemented by an unusual (at this latitude!!) rolling bassline, while the melody swings through a number of overlapping synths, creating a progressive feel and energy throughout the track. An amazing example of what we may call contemporary Psy-Tech. VISIONS is a monolithic block where the incredible kick and rolling bass complement themes of purest Detroit Techno heritage. It is a further step into unexplored terrain. With its 140 Bpm and its undeniable acid Techno, rave feeling Visions is a gently nasty dance floor blaster! On the other hand, thanks to its deep dark grooves and atmosphere, this track manages to be unexpectedly Romantic with a bitter sweet drop which makes the fastest tune of the lot almost sound quiet. VISIONS REMIX by Bahar Canca is a beautiful tribute to the original. Bahar added a touch of colour to Groovedesign's beats, smoothing up sharp edges and making it an Arty piece of work. Her noticeable effort to re-morph Visions into a new metric grid appropriate to Psy-Trance is fully evident her funky rolling bassline , while Full On grooves give the core melody, a soul. We will definitely love to hear more of these beats! PHOBOS closes the psychedelic journey with a gentle 128 bpm and a dominating distinctive bass. The iconic Albert Hoffman's sample takes over as an exquisite personal reference from Groovedesign. The rhythm deployed by the TR909 gives a touch of Detroit style, while Arpeggiators and slowing gates renders the central groove into a state close to transcendental hypnosis. Finally the deep Gothic trance ambience drops into an extremely daring break, filtering out with no use of conventional escalating drums. PHOBOS REMIX by EXH -IBZ is a faithful adaptation of the original, closer to the psychedelic techno spirit of the album, still, the beautifully crafted compression of the sounds give Phobos Remix a feeling of open space. A superb expression of techno celebration at its top. The artistic choice of this album is uncompromisingly honest. With a solid four on four kick, served by a trembling extended bass and peculiar aggressive arrangements, Emiliano could not stress enough his robust techno background, but it is with the extensive arps use and the daring drops that the artist defines his experiment, called by himself Psychedelic Techno. Finally it is paramount to underline the effortless sobriety of the album. Groovedesign takes us on an evocative journey which, despite being daring, intense and highly experimental, is never excessive. With its constant research of impeccable sounds, Psychedelic Techno Volume 1 unleashes an underlined, strong musical coherence which makes it undoubtedly a special work of art.
