During the long wait for completion of her second solo album Jill's fans became impatient for new material. For Jackson, this coincided with a whirlwind love affair with the ukulele. So she decided to produce this 5-track ukulele EP to offer something new and a little different to her loyal fans. Full of energy and character, the 'Painted Faces' EP features three new tracks inspired by and written on the ukulele, along with stripped back ukulele versions of two of Jill's older songs known previously only to the most dedicated of live gig followers. The EP, recorded in just one day in a small studio in Inverness, offers a mixture of warm, playful love songs and moving ballads that tug on the heart-strings and provide some of Jill's most honest, soul-baring lyrics to date.
