简介
SOHNN was born in Kenya in 1981. He was raised in relative poverty and lived through hardships and struggle to get to where he is at. His interaction with the poor and the disadvantaged led to his civil rights activism which is evident through his music. He currently resides in the U.S., his most influential personalities including the late Tupac Shakur, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King jr., Kirk Franklin, and lately, underground artists such as DZK and E-Phlat. SOHNN represents a society where not one person sets the standards, but one where GOD is the ultimate Judge. Where a darker person doesn’t assume superiority over a lighter person and vis-à-vis, where the rich don’t assume authority over the poor and vis-à-vis, and where some twisted pastors don’t command authority over people whereas they bend the laws to fit their own selfish ambitions: for example who validated divorce and condemned bear drinking? SOHNN has been influential in the fight for civil rights since his high school years. He recently published articles while attending Saint John’s University in the campus newspaper; the record. One article addressed the need to reach out to those who are sometimes shunned by the world including prostitutes and homosexuals, while another addressed the rights of women in the society. His first CD “CHANGES” addressed the above problems, and still incorporated great club joints under great production by Sohnn himself, the Kitchen productions, and garbacci broogs. Sohnn is still recording his second LP entitled “FREEDOM…the price”, which is scheduled to be released in late March. His messages have grown deeper and stronger, the production better, and a larger audience is anticipating its release. SOHNN is committed to encouraging people to be themselves, mind they own business, respect others, and have a purpose in life. His most inspirational saying is… “if you have to win a revolution, you gat to win with blood, if you win any other way, y’all gonna fight again…” PEACE….
