SOHNN was born in Kenya in 1981. He was raised in relative poverty and lived through hardships and struggles to get to where he is at. His own experiences and interaction with the poor and the disadvantaged led to his civil rights activism, which is evident through his music, other publications and online blogs. He currently resides in the U.S., his most influential personalities including the late Tupac Shakur, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King jr., Kirk Franklin, and lately, underground artists such as DZK. SOHNN represents a society where not one person sets the standards, but one where only GOD is the ultimate Judge. Not a society where people from one nation, one religion, one tribe, or ligher people assume superiority over the other people. SOHNN envisions a society where we all live in love, peace, and harmony. His first CD “CHANGES” addressed the above problems, and still incorporated great songs under exceptional production by SOHNN himself, the Kitchen productions, and garbacci broogs. Since then, he has released another CD entitled "Freedom the price" where he speaks against the ills of the society. In his latest LP "I have a DREAM", SOHNN speaks of the dreams of his fathers as well as his own dreams, where all prejudice will be a thing of the past. It also incorporates smooth, and relaxing songs which inspire, motivate, and also give glory to GOD, who is the beginning and the end to all things.
