简介
We never thought we would finish this cd. Hence the title. the Light of Day. It took more than a couple of years to finally get it together. On this CD things are a bit more electronic and danceable. Guitars, Keyboards and drum machines are all there just not as heavy as Anno Domini or as the forth comming CD Doloroso. Take a listen to the samples yourself and you'll hear that this is a journey from the sparse Heavens in Your Eyes to the heavy dark brooding of Is the Water Cold in Heaven? It also includes Re-mix versions of the gothic dance floor hits Sister Machine Gun and Azreal. All in all a must have Ex-Voto album. For those with ears to hear.....good stuff "If your a fan of Death-rock, these albums are certainly a good pick." (jessika) GOTHIC BEAUTY issue 20 "Ex-Voto presents their second album “the light of day” with a predominantly calm, quite attractive, danceable electronic Goth Rock, one can say that the album is sort of hypnotic. Is for certain a different work compared to the more traditional Goth Rock The album doesn’t fluctuate much, the first five tracks as described before, are soothing , hypnotic in an very light electronic tone, where “sister machinegun” stands out. “welcome to my addiction” changes the tempo to a more aggressive industrial rock. “raining down on me” in my personal opinion is by far the best track in the album, together with the following two tracks takes you to a more danceable rhythm without having a big brake keeping you involved in the music allowing to keep in the same spirit. “is the water cold is heaven” and “crimson drops” are the darkest tracks of this work, the first more darkwave than the second one, this one having a bit of Post Punk influence. To finalize, a different version of “blue green”, and “looking back from here” deviating a bit to a more traditional Goth Rock" Rating 8/10 1978 Radio show
