The Mi Vida Collecion is full of accordion, this is not your Great Aunt's accordion. Mi Vida 3 has 8 Spanish favorites, Malaguena (you've never heard one like this with the big 5 row accordion), Cruz de Olvido, Falsa (John's voice and the accordion are soulful), Lloraras, La Negra Cruz, Mis Amores, Morir Sonando and Track 5, a practice session of Tus Desprecios/Llevas Mi Nombre/Nada Contigo. As in most of John's CDs, most of the songs were recorded totally by John, playing all the instruments, singing all the voices. On Morir Sonando, John was accompanied by friends in Encinal on the bass and drums.

Many of John's songs sound like old classics, Pretendi, Otra Vez Mas, Nuevos Caminos, No Dire Tu Nombre and Me Acuerdo de Ella just on this CD alone. When John recorded with CBS, they said he was like a Songwriting Machine. He wrote a lot of songs and they were all good. CBS sub-published 75 of his songs for distribution in Mexico.

The Mi Vida Collecion, 1, 2 and 3 present different styles of John's music and present music from over the many years he was in music. Some recordings are from an early time and some from later years. The Mi Vida Collecion was intended to show just that.
