Aar Maanta To Release Somali Songs From The Diaspora London-based singer, songwriter Aar Maanta, is soon to release a new EP titled 'Somali Songs From The Diaspora'. Having just wrapped up a UK tour, being the first Somali Musical Act to do so. The 6 track EP will feature live recordings from Aar's historic tour, new songs and remixes from his 2009 debut album Hiddo & Dhaqan. After receiving great recognition following the release of Hiddo & Dhaqan. StarAfrica.com acknowledged the artist as the "Somali Culture Shaper in London." Aar Mantas' songs gives a deep expression relating to the Somali diaspora. The protest song "Deeqa" named after a Somali Airlines. Highlights the injustice Somali people receive at airports as a consequence of the "War on Terror". With critically acclaimed Jazz musician Maciek Pysz on guitar, an acoustic version of this song is also featured in the new EP.
