This is the self-titled album made up of all the monthly releases from 2014. Beginning in May 2014, each month we release a new song, and now it's time to either compile them into yearly albums or face a never ending list over many months and years to come. I've been told to write something persuasive and exciting about why we're the "next great band," and why you should ADORE us, LOVE us and BUY all our play sets and toys. I won't though. Too much drama. Instead, here's some immensely mundane stuff I'm not supposed to put here: Sarah and I are married. Going on 10 years. We met each other playing in bands and we've been producing songs together ever since, hoping to make enough to live off of. We have a daughter who started Kindergarten last August. We recently moved so she could be in a better school. We have day jobs that are... day jobs. We have to walk our garbage a half a mile to the dumpster if one of us has the car. (and bribing one's daughter with chocolate to stay quiet while we track the vocals works wonders, by the way) Also the dishes...how do so many dishes get so dirty so quickly... there's only three of us for pete's sake... With all that day-to-day stuff, we haven't stopped producing new songs. Everyday. Usually over 100 hours per song, and we release one each month. That hasn't been easy to keep doing, but it's been worth it. Now, to the music... Our band, The Droids, is a very specific experiment. To use vintage synths, big a** rock drums, and hold it together with electric bass,... then distort it all... and sing over it.
