The Sunset Clause is a solo recording inspired by spending a year holed up by the sea. The sound on some tracks of the album are a synthesis of electronica, cruising guitar instrumental and a range of other acoustic stringed instruments. The Sunset Clause has the smell of saltwater with classic surf guitar, 'The Low Waves of Melbourne', driving electronic rhythms, 'I Watch the Boats', and the ambience of ukele cruising at 'Four Knots'. A couple of tracks were originally recorded in the early 90's. You can hear the Steely Dan influence in 'My Place In The Sun'. This album is one to put on the headphones and drift off with the intricacy of the arrangement of sounds and maybe be inspired yourself to spend a year by the sea.
