Kristen Cothron is releasing "Tart," a re-imagining of an Elvis Costello favorite, in preparation of her 2012 full length release 'Show Me Where the Edge Is.' The song is a dark tale of forbidden sexuality wrapped in shimmering guitars and sudden shots of snare. Kristen's after-hours voice infuses the rich lyrical imagery with icy sparks of inspiration. This is Kristen showing off her biggest influence: Elvis Costello. "Tart" is the first of a trilogy of Costello numbers. Far from being a simple cover, "Tart" is a reintroduction of an artist showcasing where she's coming from and giving a tantalizing glimpse of where she's going.
