This second DunceCap JoyRide album is primarily centered on an acoustic sound with a singer/songwriter style. Recordings were mainly open-mic (referring to instruments not directly plugged in), which gives the feeling of listening to the band in a small room. To add to this type of sound, nearly all instruments were recorded straight through with no cutting, copying, or tapping in. Using an old time bar feel, the cover shows all the musicians in the album in front of an old local favorite Pub. Picking up the overall mood compared to the first album, Where The Whiskey Pours ranges from soft acoustic to acoustic rock.
