简介

Roll Away The Day is the first EP release by artist Wilson Harwood. Roll Away The Day will be released April 19th followed by a CD Release Show at Shine Restaurant and Gathering Place in Boulder, CO and a west coast and east coast tour in May - June 2016.   Roll Away The Day is a collection of songs written over the past two years. It showcases Wilson’s versatility not only as a multi-instrumentalist, but also as a producer. The recording of the album took place over several months in home, semi-professional and professional studios. Wilson hired on local musicians to play on four of the five tracks and create a folk/rock fusion soundscape. Roll Away The Day winds its way from surf-acoustic pop to backwoods driving bluegrass. It is about life changes told through several character’s lenses. Overall this is a folk record, but when you have banjo and synthesizers together you are certainly bending the genre. The album opens with what seems like a bluegrass ballad, but quickly embarks on an acoustic rock fusion anthem of drums and bowed upright bass. The EP ends far from where it started with a raw and emotional singer-songwriter tune highlighting a naked stripped down production where the focus is simply on the story of lost friendship. The EP marks a turning point in Wilson’s already illustrious and diverse music career. After five years in the funk/americana project Rocktin Grove, Wilson has jumped head first into writing, producing, managing, and booking his solo career. He embodies the indie artist attitude and the work hard/stay focused mentality.  Preceding Roll Away The Day, Wilson released two singles: “Saturated in Sunshine” (Fall 2015) and “Lines of Chances” (Winter 2016). Both were lauded as a fresh new sound from the former Rocktin Grove band leader.  Praise For Roll Away The Day: "The inflections in Harwood’s voice are perfect for the style. “From the beach to the boat to the buoy I just wanted you by my side…” It’s a wonderful little song, even if it does seem to be nostalgic. “Saturated in sunshine but the blues is keepin’ me back.” It’s the most upbeat blues song you’ll ever hear." -Ear To The Ground (Music Blog) "Hardwood’s own gentle harmonies capture the experience of walking through a thick wooded area during an overcast morning. And his lyrics, with clear-eyed lines like “If they can reach for sunshine/Maybe I can reach out too”, juxtapose the metaphor of branches stretching through fog with the hope that can come from finding your way through some of life’s more uncertain moments." -Hardwired Music "Calling upon artists like Alexi Murdoch, Damien Rice, and William Fitzsimmons, Wilson's soothing voice drifts in and out of the bright and warm finger-plucked notes of his acoustic guitar. The borderline-melancholic tones of a violin aid in establishing the calm and peaceful setting." The Prelude Press
