“I Will Walk For You” began as a grandfather’s song of love and support for a little three-year old girl named Scarlet with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. The song has blossomed into an anthem for people who walk, carry and climb for friends who can’t do it on their own because of disabilities ranging from MD to Alzheimer’s to stroke. A music video accompanying the song garnered more than 120,000 views on Facebook in the first 48 hours with comments like: “I can't stop watching this I just love it!” and “Beautiful, powerful & so inspiring! God bless sweet Scarlet and others fighting SMA. Thank you for sharing!” There have been so many requests for the song Stephen Clark, A Detroit TV news anchor, has decided to use it to raise money for the primary goal of Scarlet’s Smile, a non-profit foundation named for the little girl who inspires so many. That goal is to build an “inclusive” playground in Scarlet’s Michigan hometown. A playground where a little girl in a wheelchair can play among kids who are not.
