This work is in both Latin (for many of the chants) and English. Sometimes you will here a juxtaposition of Latin chant sung by Men's Chorus with Soprano Descant or perhaps a Bass Countertheme which is also heard in the Strings at other times. Semi-Gregorian Chant is often heard and it develops into its most elaborate form on Track 15: Chant Finale. The Hymn Finale is the most dramatic track in which Soprano combines with Orchestra and Men's Chorus and Tympani, eventually fading away with choral theme and distant, hushed tympani and strings. I have allowed the entire track to be heard, instead of merely a 30 second clip, for Tracks 10, 13 and 15 as I think they are so integrated as to need being heard in their entirety. The Conclusion is more chromatic at times with harps and Soprano, ending with Men's Choral Theme which has been heard several times throughout work. It expands into five statements with strings and Harp Glissandi and fades away with just harp echoing in the distance.
