This is the follow-up to Dave Plotel's Red Hat album, recorded in London with the input of the great fusion player Rick Laughlin on keyboards and Level 42's Sean Freeman on sax. This project was quite a long time in the making - recorded in 2008 and Dave has now decided to release it here. Dave: "I look on this as a collage of imagery in music. Being a guitar player first and foremost, I slightly put that on hold, although I break through with solos, rockish and also jazz boppish, never worrying too much about specific genre, with my usual intermittent block vocals - going with the flow, and letting the direction just move on to its conclusion, also with the help of Angie Plotel's lyrics defining the prose. Rick Laughlin was a great help and his contribution made it work really well - his solos throughout are exciting and add to the textures of the song. Sean came down to London and spent a day doing all the solos - fabulous throughout, the solo on Love Is On is steaming, but listen to Love Is On pt 2 for some quirky stuff, all the other tracks have his stamp on them too. Anjali Perrin sang some great lines and harmonies to a couple of tracks - I Thought Of You & The Gift. Shiobain Corsie also did harmonies on Love Is On and LIO pt 2 all fab.
