Hailing from the southside of Chicago, Funkedope's brand of music has been forged over decades by the legends of classic Soul, the intense passion and drive of House, and the emotion and sincerity of Jazz. The first track "By Step" is a lighthearted and pleasantly addictive dance tune that will keep you singing the hook and dancing long after the song is off. "Crown" is a more thought provoking tune with a driving beat that almost works in contrast to the lyrics, but by the end of the song the marriage is set with the guitar as the ring that binds it all together. And then there is "Darkness". This tune is the ride at the amusement park with the longest line. Just turn it up load and hold on. All in all, it is a tremendous accomplishment from the first time artist and producer Funkedope. One that should be remembered for quite some time.
