Cynthia Brando releases her first single since embarking on a move from Northern California to Los Angeles in 2014. Across the Water was inspired by the real life story of Judah Schiller and his innovative bicycle that crosses water. Cynthia was moved to write the tune after reading about his journey across the San Francisco Bay in the Huffington Post. "I thought the story of Judah and his invention was a great and deep metaphor about overcoming obstacles in life and forging your own path. Across the Water was engineered by Dave Osti of Dirtshack Studios, who also plays slide guitar parts, bass and piano. Theo Waddell offers up his energetic cajon and percussive style, all to the powerful projections of Cynthia's rhythm guitar and unique lead and harmony vocals. Cynthia's past recordings include her 2013 "folk-pop" CD Baby release of "To the Bone", and a country ep you can find on her website titled, "You Dropped My Hand (But I Understand), which got her an Honorable Mention in SongDoor's International Songwriting Contest for the track "Driven By Angels". Always trying different styles, Brando does it again with Across the Water and its more "adult alternative" vibe compared to past recordings. Cynthia also recently signed with Dave Osti to produce a full album set to release in 2015 with his new independent label, Dirtshack Records.
