The Early Years - John played the guitar and 3 row accordion at 6 years. At age 14, he had formed a group and was performing, Track 14 is a live performance at a dance in Texas when he was 14. At 18, he joined a group in San Antonio and they recorded John's polka, La Chachalaca, Track 16. The polka was so popular that a Laredo radio station used it as a lead-in song for one of their programs. John's accordion playing is amazing. One Man Band - John created the label La Chachalaca and recorded as a One Man Band. He recorded 5 albums during this time including Track 9 Te Amare and Track 13 Mis Viejitos, about his grandparents. CBS and Peerless - Peerless released an extended play and an album and John recorded an album for CBS in Mexico City. Track 2 Ando Vacilando/Ando Navegando and Track 21 Cuando Pasen Cien Anos are from his CBS album. Ando Navegando has been recorded by many other groups. Encinal Years - During this time, John wrote hundreds of songs and recorded in his home studio. He also became the Mayor and Municipal Judge of his childhood home. Track 10 Lover's Waltz, Track 5 Los Encinalenos and Track 17 Tejas Guitar, an outstanding classical guitar piece, were recorded in Encinal. Later Years - In addition to featuring the accordion, John added more keyboards to his music. Beautiful love songs recorded during this time are Tracks 1. Cuando Estas Conmigo, 3 Cuando Me Muera, 4 Este Pobre Hombre, 5 Fuiste un Milagro, 6 El Apartmento, 7 Porque Te Conoci, 8 Eternamente, 11 La Montana Mas Alta, 12 Te Dijo Esta Cancion, 18 Adoracion, 19 El Recadito and 20 Nunca Entendi. Cuando Estas Conmigo says, if you’re not with me, I feel lost but when you’re with me the sky is illuminated. El Apartamento recounts where they first shared their life and love. Eternamente says, the years have only increased our love. Most of the songs were written by John and recorded by him.
