Brian was a boy born into a midwest suburban family on a sunday morning. His childhood music taste would continue to greatly impact him for the remainder of his life. Through his growing up he would develop a very extensive taste in music ranging from rap to any form of samba, jazz, pop punk, hardcore, metal, country, ska, electronic, and classical. He would search this world diligently to find the best music he could, regardless of any genre. As he grew up he began to learn how to play drums as his first instrument, teaching himself everything he needed to know, and was quick to jump into any band he could. He loved to play live, but there was something missing with all the music he heard. It was missing something that his heart was dying to hear. He decided he would then write that music himself in an attempt to compose the music he was longing to hear and felt the world was as well, the kind of music he felt the world needed and was too lost to find on it's own. Brian taught himself to play the guitar and began writing his first songs. After seeing how fast and passionately Brian was learning to play, a friend named Jacob whom was fluent in his own mountain language he crafted and his own form of martial arts, thrusted upon Brian his own acoustic guitar. Jacob said the guitar's name was Calida, and that the name meant that you are capable of doing anything your heart desires to do. With this guitar, Brian knew it was time. And in the next three years Brian would undergo a severe depression. One in which he developed an extreme insomnia. He felt the only way out was to craft the perfect music. Through this he began writing, and it was shortly after this he decided he must dig himself out of this hole he had created. Many of the songs Brian has written were from that time in his life, some were written to help himself through this and he wishes it will help the rest of the world too, which is why he works so diligently on his music project. It was soon after this that he realized there's only one person who can capture the music he writes the way it is meant to be heard and that person is himself. Brian then decided he would begin his own studio and play all instruments on every track. Except for violin and female vocals, everything you hear is played, written, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Brian Mikula with the help of CD Baby as a music aggregator. He wishes to fill the emptiness that each of us face with the music everyone else refuses to make. You can always expect something exciting. Calida has no genre. The music is meant to make you feel.
