More Mas Hysteria: Live in Germany 1981

This electrifying live concert from Carolyne Mas was recorded January 21, 1981 at the Markthalle Theater in Hamburg Germany, and it features Bobby Chouinard (drums), Ivan Elias (bass), Crispin Cioe (sax), Ricky DeSarno (guitar), and Charlie Giordano (keys), who is now a member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band. This lineup may very well have been the most magical of her career. Recorded just months after the well-received "Mas Hysteria", Mas prefers this live recording as the band was tighter from extensive touring, and drummer Bobby Chouinard had rejoined the group after a brief hiatus with Billy Squire. This double-CD has 19 action-packed tracks which include many of her well-known songs like "Sittin' in the Dark", "Thomas Dunson's Revenge", and "Stillsane', as well as several songs that have never before been released: I'm Lucky", another great Mas/Landau collaboration, "Due Relief", an edgy Mas original, "Bad Love", a Mark Johnson rocker, and the tour-de-force of Mas' live shows, "Midnight Confessions", the classic Grass Roots R&B song. Carolyne Mas first arrived on the New York Music scene in 1976, and recorded her debut album "Carolyne Mas" for Mercury Records in 1979. She created much hoopla in the press at the time, but despite this, Mas never seemed to gain mainstream acceptance. Her passion for pumping out high energy live shows made her something of a cult artist, and she has many loyal fans all over the world to this day. Mas continues to record and tour on occasion, but many of her fans consider this period of time in her career to be the most significant, as it placed her firmly on the map internationally both as a versatile songwriter and as a pioneer of women's rock.
