Fritz Heede, Los Angeles based composer, has been pioneering world/electronic music for more than 25 years. His has scored Emmy winning network Specials, feature films and documentaries. Always with an ear to current music trends his music vocabulary is rooted in the classics as well as world and ancient music. His strong interests in science, philosophy and metaphysics can be felt in his compositions. Fritz is an eclectic musician who is an adept player of instruments such as the flamenco guitar, Turkish Saz, Indian Sitar, piano, electronic keyboards, world percussion, hammered dulcimer and the electric guitar. "Illuminated Manuscripts" is a soundtrack to the DVD of the same name that features organic computer animation by John Banks (artekimages.com). Works that explore visions of lost worlds and journeys of discovery. With original sources drawn from ancient sites, deep green nature and lost languages. The music is a rich fabric woven with exotic instruments including arabic violin, doudouk, sitar, flutes, world percussion and harmonic toning melded with electronics that never take away any of its organic nature. The tone is meditative and spiritual as well as seductive and mesmerizing.
