This is all original music, and the last major work of bandleader Noel Dinn. Overshadowed by Noel's death in 1993, the album contains some of Noel's best writing, "Freedom" is a powerful rock ballad about the collapse of the Soviet Union (in petty kingdoms friends fight head to head), "Sweet Temptation" is an apology of sorts, (always felt I let you down, these tears, these fears have broken the spell, I can cry out loud) and "Downstream" is a courageous look at death as it stared him in the face (I'm going down to the Mother, back to the ocean, to the source of our dreams).

From Pamela we have "True or False", self-questioning based upon tunes by Emile Benoit, "Twilight" about friends with AIDS, "Song for Paul" a child with autism, and the cheeky "Crown of Thorns"

Some of the country's best musicians appear on this album, highlighted by the unmistakable plaintive pedal steel by Kenny Greer, and underscored by Noel's haunting and highly individual piano keyboards.

The album leaves one to wonder where Noel would have gone next if he was able to continue his extraordinary journey.
