There's an old saying which we've all heard approximately twelve thousand times; and it goes: "You've just gotta keep the old ball rolling". Apparently, New York's rapidly rising Undulate Recordings prefers their musical "ball" to do more than simply roll along. As the imprint approaches their fifth release from newcomer Frank Naht; Undulate's humble, yet confident label heads, Billy Disciple and Al Alvarez have kicked that metaphoric ball far into the stratosphere. Amazingly enough, upon return to earth, the ball landed directly into the lap of Elon; the industry-wide icon and producer with output on labels such as Bedrock, Get Physical, Metroline and -- is there really a need to go on any further? His remix of Naht's heads-down groover, "D.C.O." shows precisely why his work is consistently in high demand from the world's biggest labels. Elon's smashing rendition of D.C.O. will surely be popular with both house and techno aficionados alike. As the ball is passed along, from Elon it reaches the magic fingertips of the up and coming, Francys; already a regular on some cutting edge labels such as Soulfooled, Composite, Highway Recordings and Reposal Schallware, he turns in a stunning remix that flips D.C.O. upside-down; supplying a deep, chugging and constantly evolving cascade of aural bliss. At the end of the day; the ball returns right back onto the court of label co-head, Al Alvarez who gives it his Data Vault treatment to D.C.O.; keeping a dark, driving groove that much like Elon and Francys' mixes, dazzlingly continues to build and build, leading way to a hair-raising breakdown which must be heard on a proper sound system in order to fully grasp it's even balance of power and elegance. The D.C.O. EP sets the bar so far for Undulate, with a strong debut original from Frank Naht; complimented by a trio of remixes which defy all laws of gravity, while the Undulate squadron stare out the windows of their futuristic flight vessel looking towards the future.
