简介
In 1990, Seattle's hardcore / metal thrash kings, The Accused signed a multi-album deal with Seattle's 'Rap-Only" record label, NASTYMIX Records--to the shock, surprise and bewilderment of their fans and the staff of the record label--who's promotional department were slightly ill-equipped to successfully market their latest signing. During the otherwise disappointingly non-apocolyptic '90's, The Accused released 3 amazing titles via NASTYMIX ; "Grinning Like An Undertaker" LP, "Straight Razor" EP and "Splatter Rock" LP. "Grinning..." and "Straight Razor" were both recorded and produced by Jack Endino in Seattle, WA between 1990 - 1991; "Splatter Rock" was released in 1993 as NASTYMIX was going under fast, and is the last full-length album The Accused released before disappearing from radar for the next ten years. Some die-hard fans of The Accused argue that "Grinning.." was the apex for band's career, and it couldn't be outdone. Still others say the lustfully violent riff-filled full-length "Splatter Rock"--(produced by Poison Idea's THEE SLAYER HIPPIE, aka: Steve Hanford)--is the one that delivers the goods in spades. Either way, the Nastymix era catalog of recordings by The Accused does a great job of showcasing the band at a time when they were absolute rulers of the punk/metal genre.
