Pop Opera’s fastest rising star, Daniel Koek, combines a trained classical sound with popular influences to bring you the best of Opera, Pop and Musical Theatre with his unique tenor voice. He is currently enjoying rave reviews and playing to capacity audiences in the UK as “Anatoly” in Craig Revel Horwood's spectacular new production of CHESS - The Musical. He is delighted to be releasing the Hit SIngle "Anthem" to coincide with this phenomenal production! The end of 2009 saw Daniel sell out his solo concerts in the UK and was a featured artist of the renowned West End legend Elaine Paige. Daniel performed in Tim Rices' own version of “Chess in Concert” at the Royal Albert Hall with Josh Groban, Idina Menzel and Kerry Ellis and has also appeared in Phantom of the Opera, Chess and Saturday Night Fever. Whilst in Australia, Daniel won the Young Achievers Award in 2003 and the coveted Young Artist Scholarship Program with the State Opera of South Australia. He has also sung a season with the Reis Opera Company of the Netherlands, and was subsequently snapped up to perform the lead role in a new work for the National Youth Opera Festival in Amsterdam. Among many other accolades he was recently a finalist in the BBC Voice of Musical Theatre Competition in Cardiff, Wales. With high acclaim for his debut album “Self Titled Tenor”, and his eagerly anticipated second album, currently being recorded, Daniels reputation as one of the finest young classical crossover voices is confirmed!
