Artist – Helen O’Shea Title – "Mama Told You…" Helen O'Shea, a native of Ireland, left Montreal and her career at McGill Medical School in 2011 to move to Princeton with her young family. When her kids asked her to stay home, her husband suggested she explore her first love, singing, during her career break. What started as a hobby soon developed into a full time passion with Helen releasing her first EP "Mama Told You..." on Saturday April 30th 2016. In 2014, Helen met with two time Grammy winning producer Marc Swersky and her music took off in a new direction. Since then, she has been working with Marc as her mentor, co-writer & producer. In March 2016, as part of a singer-songwriting submission, Helen was invited to showcase her original songs at the "Cape May Singer Songwriter Festival". Helen & Marc were honored that out of over 100 songs considered, the Cape May Festival organizers chose "Moments" (Helen O'Shea & Marc Swersky) to include on their 2016 Festival CD. "Mama Told You..." features a collection of 5 original songs and 1 cover about relationships, motherhood, loving, leaving and making your dreams come true! The EP was recorded at Shorefire Recording Studios (Joseph DeMaio) in Long Branch, NJ and features the amazing musicians from what Helen calls "Marc's Dream Team" - Steve Holley on drums (Wings), Todd Caldwell on piano & organ (Crosby, Stills, Nash), Vinnie Mascolo on lead guitar (Tunnels to Holland), Marc Swersky on bass guitar & piano, Jeff Levine on organ (Joe Cocker) as well as Helen's favorite cousin and world famous button accordion player Billy McComiskey.
