简介
J. F. Oakes was a lead vocalist with Southern Rockers THE 484 SOUTH BAND that released "Mississippi Nights" in 2009, and the follow-up "21 Miles of Bad Road." This album is his first venture into solo waters. The album was recorded at TWEED STUDIOS in Oxford, Mississippi and engineered/mixed/mastered by Jeffrey Reed (formerly of Ardent Studios and Blackdog Records) of TAPROOT AUDIO DESIGN. The songs have smart, truthful lyrics set to some catchy melodies and a few set to moody music. Conceived as a songwriters album that turned into more, Oakes touches on love lost, taxes, and the death of a soldier. If you like music from people in the South, here you have one. Born and raised there and living life in small town Mississippi as we write this. UPDATE: J. F. Oakes will appear with his former band in a scene of the movie BADASSES ON THE BAYOU starring Danny Trejo, Danny Glover that is set for release March 6, 2015.
