Panel 32E, Line 085. That cold configuration of numbers designating a location on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial doesn’t remotely begin to sum up the person I knew as Johnny Corr. The past several years, spurred by the senseless events surrounding the death of U.S. Army Ranger Pat Tillman, I began to review my long-stored feelings regarding Johnny. Ultimately, they surfaced in the song, “Lament for J.C.”, 40 years following the death of this friend and superb athlete—quarterback of the undefeated 1962 Wilton (Conn) High School Warriors, basketball playmaker, high hurdles star, and scholarship athlete at the University of Bridgeport.
