The band was founded in the early summer of 2015 by singers Mike Iorio and Danny Sales who were childhood friends. Growing up together made the writing process a breeze and in no time, an EP worth of songs was written. Soon after, in the fall semester of 2015, drummer Joe Turner and percusionist (and rain stick specialist) Alec Tallman, fellow classmates of Mike Iorio, joined the group and Elephants Dancing transformed from just a summer project into a band in full swing. Now Elephants Dancing is a reggae band characterized by their funk, hip-hop, and rock influences. The music of Elephants Dancing, portrayed very accurately by the EP title, "Clear Skies," sends messages of good vibes and positivity by means of infectious grooves and fun, rhythmically complex songs. Their first release, "Clear Skies (The EP)," consists of 8 songs including, "Panic Static," the track for the band's first music video. In the Spring of 2016, the band recorded a new live EP and named it Get Tropical! After a small Soundcloud release, the crew went back into the studio for a last minute surprise single, Summer's Song. Summer's Song was released on the Summer Solstice and paved the path for the remaining summer ahead. ​ In the summer of 2016, Elephants Dancing released their 19 track full length album, Rituals and plans to tour in the Summer of 2017.
