This album was put together over the course of three years, and it has morphed and changed hugely since the first concept. The basic idea is to use beats created with both electronic and acoustic instruments, using live players so the final instrumental feels like a song instead of a beat. Then, since I am a rap producer and have a couple artists over each week, I had them add freestyles and verses to the beats. This is the basic starting point, then it gets a little weird. I then went back to the original tracks, and effected the tracks in every way possible. A good chunk of this was done with the help of co-producer Felix Inferious, who brought to the table a large assortment of analog filters and FX, in addition to the theremin he played on some tracks as well. Finally, this album was mixed in a true boutique studio by Bert McIntyre, who is a veteran sound engineer, and brought some unique and rare tones to the album as well. The final product is dense and wonderful, with lots of interesting moments, that keeps you listening again and again. This album is my personal favorite because of it's uniqueness, and while it is more rough on the edges than some of my other productions, I can't help but love the way it came out. -Freematik
