"It's definitely the coolest job I ever had." says Chris Bartlett when asked about his career of the last 10 years. "I was a pizza delivery guy, a prison guard, a youth minister, a repo man, and many other things before I settled on 'music man'." Hailing from Macon, GA, Chris couldn't ignore the influence of a town so rich with music heritage. He began singing as early as he could remember. In fact, his earliest memories are of him playing on the carpet with his mother while they listened to Little Richard and Otis Redding records. Chris took on music full time in 2001 and it quickly became an obsession. He played shows nightly and spent hours during the day diligently honing his craft. from 2002 to 2005 he fronted the progressive music powerhouse "Thelonius Funk" and toured relentlessly, gaining much popular in the Southeastern jam band circuit. In March of 2006 he was signed to indie label Explosound records by enigmatic producer Habersham Hall. His first solo effort was released in January 2007 to much critical acclaim. After a successful tour, Chris joined the Atlanta based rock band Soul Stash. The band flourished after the new addition, touring with acts including Rehab, Velvet Revolver, Juliette and the Licks and Wyclef Jean. In 2010 Soul Stash parted ways and Chris went into the studio to find the sounds he knew would inspire and resonate with his fans. "2010 was an impossible year.... but it only made me that much more passionate about music. I just want to take what I've learned, what makes me feel good... and share it with the world." Chris is a dedicated missionary. His vision is clear. "I'm bringing back live sounds, live instruments. Music that can breathe and evoke real emotion. I will only make music that I love to listen to. If I wouldn't buy this record, then I won't release it.
