In late 2014, I set out to record an album that was different from anything I had recorded before. What made this album different was the process. I recorded these songs myself; no other voices or instruments. Just me. The result is a very raw and honest set of recordings that I am calling “Poor Man’s Process”. The phrase “poor man’s process” is a movie business term. It refers to the technique that makes actors sitting in a stationary car look like they are driving down the road. I always liked this term. To me, it represents using what ever means available to get the job done. Though it also carries with it a sense of struggle… Poor man’s process here can refer to the method that these songs were recorded with minimal recording gear (including my iPhone). But, it also carries the deeper meaning of the daily struggle of a Jesus follower working out his salvation. I hope you enjoy this album, and are blessed by the songs it contains. - BRIAN
