In December of 2011 Mike worked with engineer, producer and musician Justin Douglas (Royal Forest, Ray Bonneville) at Shine Studios in Austin, Texas. Gorman came out with three lean, hard driving, emotionally raw songs. With that one three hour recording session came Gorman’s newest EP, Sister Mountain. Just a voice and a guitar was all Mike needed to create a powerful collection of songs that come right out at you and pull you in. He’s never sang or played better on record. His intricate fingerpicking and his passionate, raw vocals create an organic folk vibe that is simultaneously fresh and modern while maintaining deep roots in the American Song tradition. In addition the fine album art was done by Albany based artist Robert Gullie. It conjures up the hazy, rugged, rural tales that Gorman spins on this collection.
