For In the Light of Love Camie just went into the recording studio because it "was time," and proceeded to create this album without any real blueprint for her musical directions, just letting the moment guide her gifted fingers along the strings of her instrument. The result is quietly moving, reverent, enraptured, and incredibly relaxing. With tracks named after corresponding times in the day as well as moods and feelings, In the Light of Love is a spiritually awake journey through the miracle that is a single day in a human life, a planetary rotation, a rising and falling of the sun and moon. Opening track "Morning Star" carries more than a passing thematic reference to "Greensleeves" and other organ cathedral-style melodies, like a happy wanderer passing various church services on the way to a relaxing Sunday brunch with friends. "Devotion" is a meditation on more familiar classical music, both deeply spiritual and yet light and buoyant as a passing butterfly. "Dusk" creates a mood for both relaxing at the end of another day and quietly expecting the night to come. The tracks flow lovingly together, making this an ideal choice for rainy Sundays spent looking out the window, too distracted to meditate but with a longing heart that could use some directions in getting home.
