简介

“Harake Gang” is an instrumental concept album, a homage to the Hot Rod genre, dedicated to a mysterious motorcycle gang from the early ‘60s, who used to perform breathtaking stunts on the hot Israeli sand dunes, attracting the youth and irritating the elders. The story is told through 13 tunes that sound as if they were taken from old surf/sci-fi movies, and played by the original band plus violins, tuba, synths, fuzz and opera singing, and features many accomplished Israeli musicians. It was produced by Uri Brauner Kinrot (Boom Pam, Ouzo Bazooka). Songs from the album are already used as opening themes for radio shows in Israel. It is the band's second album, following the debut album titled "Danger Beach". From the LP Back cover: As the records spins, go for a SWEET SURF IN TIME, all the way back to Israel in the early 1960's and meet the HARAKE GANG! The roaring sound you hear is a small gang of wild bikers approaching, making adults hide as if it was a SHARK ATTACK. To make lady luck shine upon them, they gave themselves nicknames as if they were indians from the ARAPAHO tribe. Ride with Zion "The Black Eagle" Am'ar, Abraham "The Flying Bull" Nuriel, Avi "Shtetale" Statelander, "Abal'e", "Sandman", "The White Tiger", "ASSAD", and more. Notice the iconic leader of the gang and most experienced biker, Haim Meshulam, who calls himself "THE BLACK HAWK". Like every Saturday, They're heading to the secret gathering spot on the sands near Holon city to perform breathtaking stunts including sand-burnouts, no-handed rides, the Superman, the HANG FIVE, as well as some bravery tests such as climbing the grand hill. Adjustments need to be made in order to use their standard motorcycles for this cause. Air pressure is reduced, and unnecessary weight in the shape of flashlights, dynamo, exhaust and fenders, is removed. The impressive display attracts curious children who decide to enter the danger zone, even at the price of risking their lives. The highlight is the "Big Air" tournament. Itzik "Chicken" is the one responsible for measuring the distance, while jumps can reach as far as 30 meters. Suddenly, Yehuda Annan, Fauzi and Mordechai "MORDER" from the legendary Samson's Foxes gang, appear on the top of the grand hill. These Palmach veterans, the well-respected first generation of Israeli stunt bikers, came to examine the new gang. Morder decides to show how he used to climb hills back in the day. He approaches with confidence and starts climbing. Halfway through the peak he starts falling, all the way down. It is an embarrassing moment, as all the bikers and children watched, but he keeps on trying, again and again. Legend has it that he is still there to this very day. The riders have left long ago, and are heading towards Bat-Yam beach. As they bathe in the ocean and BODYSURF, the Black Hawk stays at the parking lot to perform some road acrobatics for the ever-excited crowd. He rides it like Rodeo, performing a 200m long wheelie while throwing tail-sparks, standing on the seat while riding in circles with his face to the back and his eyes covered, sitting on the handlebars and lifting barrels. On their way back, as the gang passes the Yarkon Bridge, "QUIJOTE" demonstrates the most dangerous trick, which only the bravest of riders dare to perform. He climbs the legendary giant metal arcs holding the bridge. Soon enough, the police hears rumors about the dangerous stunt and starts following the gang, making ambushes and arresting whoever plans to climb it. Shortly after, "The Hawk" leaves to ride the Wall of Death all over the world, "Shtetale" moves to England to become a Formula driver, Nuriel starts travelling in search of THE BELGIAN WAVE, "The Black Eagle" becomes religious and moves to mount MERON, the sands are covered with buildings and the police put barriers on the bridge arcs. That marked the DOOMSDAY, which came eventually at 1964, when the gang split. The album honors the REVOLUTION made by the Harake gang in the local motorsport culture!
