简介

First off, let me warn you now that this is not a new Filthy Twolips album! If you thought it was, take it back and trade it in for the new Steel Panther disc. Better yet, listen to it, rip it to ITUNES, then use it as a beer coaster. It is however, a comprehensive retrospective of classic Filthy Twolips music! "Folks that think flowers when they hear this band's name are in for a big surprise." - Joey Dildos The band started out as "Judson Sharp" in '03, when Fil Coolins and Bootleg Gandhi got together and started jammin' out on some Minor Threat, Pennywise, Ramones and whatever else they felt like. Not too long after, Squid Lee and the Wetsaw Bandit moved into the house next to Fil in the west end of Long Beach. Coolins and Gandhi had known of the Wetsaw Bandits guitar skills and asked if he wanted to play bass. Even though not the 6 strings he was accustomed to playing, he accepted the offer and suggested that his roommate Squid Lee may make for a good singer. The four beersmen got together and after one or two practices the named changed from "Judson Sharp" to "Filthy Twolips." They worked on some original tunes as well as covers and played a bunch of live shows before recording and releasing the bands debut EP "Semen of the Crime" at some point in 2005. Following the release of the "Semen EP" Squid Lee left the band. The remaining 3 members moved forward as a power trio and followed it up with the full length album "Workin' A Broad" that came out hard in September of '06. The Twolips have played piles of shows with bands such as The Queers, Fishbone, Aunt Hildegard, The Ramoones, Pink Panty Meltdown, John Wilkes Booth, Quarterlife Crisis, White Goblin and many more. In 2007 Fil Coolins was asked to play drums full time in the greatest Ramones Tribute band of all time, The Ramoones, and there was no way he could turn this opportunity down. After learning of the news that Fil needed leave the Twolips in order to focus on hitting the big time with The Ramoones, the Twolips put together a spectacular "Last Show Ever" in March '08 featuring the one and only Erik "The Guitar Wizard" Shenkle on lead guitar at Connolly's Klub 45 in Times Square! After this show, the band drank a lot of beer and went on an indefinite hiatus. On October 29, 2010, the band reunited for one night only, but under the name "Omelet of Disease" to play a halloween cover set of Misfits songs with, international singing legend, Bobby Banton singing lead. Around October or November 2011, they were asked to play a show with Aunt Hildegard at world famous Mr Beery's in Bethpage, NY. Fil Coolins was in Guatemala studying the history of the ancient cities of Nakbé, Xulnal, El Tintal, Wakná and El Mirador and was therefore unavailable for the show, so the other band members decided to recruit world class pop punk drumming sensation Joey Fourskins to fill in for Fil, and the first "Filthy Twolips" show in almost 4 years happened on Friday the 13th, January 2012. It was May 2013 when Fil Coolins returned from his journey to Guatemala. On his travels throughout the country his passion for drums was only strengthened. Upon his return Fil contacted the others and the band got together and started playing their old songs again. "One Mighty Ugly Backpack" got wind of the bands recent rumblings and asked if they wanted to play one of his shows. On October 25, 2013, once again at Mr Beery's, the band, featuring all original members, played their first show together since the "Last Show Ever" in 2008. The true "reunion" show was a success and the band looks to move forward and see what the future holds. More shows? New songs? Who knows, but one thing is for sure, there will be beer!
