Exit is a relaxed, mostly acoustic album, consisting of 11 short tunes that often stray into psychedelia.

The instrumentation on the album is influenced by many baroque pop and folk rock artists of the 1960s and 1970s as well as some more contemporary artists. Harmoniums, harpsichords, reed organs, upright pianos, salt shakers, coffee cans, and aluminum table tops all have their place in Exit. Another common element across the songs on Exit is the use of vocal harmonies. Although released under the name "The Halfways" the album was recorded entirely by Daniel Fernandez in Miami, FL during 2012 and early 2013.
