Portland signed their first EP shortly following the release of their first song “You Don’t Know Me”. The video quickly reached more than 1 million views on Youtube – unheard of for a group not yet broadcast on the radio and with only a local following. Rooted in high-strung subversive electro-pop, similar to the sounds of M83 or Cut Copy, the members of the band do not deny strong childhood influences such as the virgin-like Madonna or the Prince of “Cream”.
