There is nothing I love doing more than singing with and performing for children. I have been doing this as a career now for over seven years through a local music school, Mountain Top Music Center. I sing with babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and early elementary children. They love my classes, look forward to them, and ask to come back. I have tailored my music to meet their interests and needs. I do not choose my repertoire based only on the songs I love (although I love everything I do). I sing and write songs that I know children will respond to. I have written songs that have not been very useful. Those songs are not on this CD. I have chosen only songs that my children's audiences love to sing and dance to, and these are songs that they request to sing or dance to from week to week. Even some of my preschoolers love some of these songs so much that they have learned the words to them and sing them with me. Many parents have told me how much they appreciate the joy and fun I bring into their children's lives. Many tell me that their toddlers and preschoolers ask to come to my classes. I have worked with children who have learning disabilities, and there is nothing more wonderful than to see my music open up doors of understanding in their lives. Parents are thrilled to see their children learning to count beats, tap to a rhythm, sing a song, or go home doing some of the activities that I have taught them that same week. My first love is the children and what they enjoy. I make every endeavor to enter into their world and see the world from their perspective. I love nothing more than to hear the many requests that children give me. My passion and life's mission is to speak to them in their language. Nothing makes me sadder than for children to feel that what they feel or have to say is not important. I want every child to know that he or she is very important to me and that is at the heart of every song I have ever written for children. I would like to add that I also have the joy of singing in libraries, fairs, festivals and many other children's events. I know and can guarantee that your children will love this CD. This will be very useful for preschool classrooms and libraries to provide the same activities that I bring to classrooms and libraries and other venues.
