Following on to the success of Ric Halstead's concept album "Sketches" (also available on www.cdbaby.com) which captured the moods and energy of Hong Kong, Ric has produced "Groovalicious" which is inspired by the natural beauty and energy of one of Australia's iconic tourist destinations - Noosa on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. Ric moved there in 2002 from Hong Kong and discovered a wealth of musical talent which had also gravitated to the area. As well as Ric's creative skills as a composer we also hear his talents on saxes and alto-flute together with the wonderful keyboard playing of Dave Atkin, the soulful Ian Harvey on guitar, the ever tasteful and funky Mark Williams on bass and the steady groove of Matt Perin on drums. Also featured on "Surf's Up' is one of the worlds leading steel drum players Lennox Jordan who had recently moved to Australia from the West Indies. Check out the exquisite voice of Sarajai on "Another Perfect Day".

There is also a bonus track to the originally released cd which features the legendary singer/songwriter Barry Charles performing 'Tee Tree Bay Blues" with Ric on alto. "Groovalicious" is a relaxing and colourful album which really captures the essence of Noosa - sun, sea,sand, surf and a good time.
