Like my other "concept" project Ghost Funk Horizon, this represents an idea that slowly came together while I was engineering and producing for other artists. Whenever I would have a rapper over to record their projects, I would get them to freestyle on this compilation of futuristic beats. For months I just picked random spots in this approximately 25 minute beat compilation, and punched rappers in and had them freestyle over the section. When I had enough vocals to choose from, I then went through and chose the best sections to take to the next level. From there I used a huge amount of FX processing on the vocals, to create unusual vocal sounds that wouldn't normally be used in rap. At times the vocals are out of control, but it always comes back to a rapper and a beat, even if it never sounds like regular rap. I really like the way this mixtape moves, and it was exactly what I hoped it would be, a freaky trip through uncharted dimensions... -Freematik
