简介
Originally formed in the summer of 2014, Wetbrain has released 3 singles with the original members (Matt, Andrew, Judah, Tim). The band released EP Alien Fellowship in the summer of 2015. Wetbrain has played upwards of 30 times in both Philadelphia and New Jersey, since Summer of 2015. Now the band consists of four original members Matt del Rio (Vocals) and Andrew Haff (Guitar and Vocals) and new members Matt Antoina (Bass) and Branden King (Drums and Vocals). Since the bands inception Wetbrain has released three singles (Self Produced), a five-song EP entitled Alien Fellowship recorded at Everloft Studios, and their most recent release was self-produced by Andrew Haff. The track was called “She Bad” and it featured KOTD Champion “Rone.” and Russell ¿Que? of the hip hop trio Weekday Warriors from Wilmington Delaware. Wetbrain is a band that prides itself on venturing into the unfamiliar. It is a band that brings genres that aren't often acquainted with one another together to create a new sound with a unique and intoxicatingly catchy aesthetic. The band has been known to incorporate the stylings of alt rock, hip hop, blues, funk, and metal (often combining 2-3 of those sounds in any given song) into a refreshing new style with a keen sense of pop sensibility, effectively making Wetbrain unorthodox, yet incredibly catchy as well. These genres do not step on one another's toes, but instead become ingrained within one another, basically creating their own genres from song to song. Although certain songs may have different styles than others, you never feel like they have lost their identity. They are able to travel from sound to sound while always sounding like Wetbrain. Their live show pulsates with an unadulterated energy that draws in a crowd from the first note of their opening song until the very end of their set. It isn't a sloppy chaotic energy; more so, it is a very focused and channeled energy. That, along with a very rehearsed/tight set, allows Wetbrain to let it all out on stage without missing a single beat. They engage the crowd without over-bantering in between songs, and do so without seeming disinterested in their spectators (essentially they find a happy medium). They live for their music and it is incredibly noticeable in a visual sense. The band has played a lot this past year. Some venues they have played at include Kung Fu Necktie, Grape Room, Bourbon & Branch, Connies Ric Rac, Milkboy, Dobbs, The Fire, The North Star Bar, Isle of Wild (New Jersey), and Eakins Oval, 1984. “Filter Face” is Wetbrain’s newest single being released to all distributors September 20th. Self recorded and by the band and Produced by band member Andrew Haff at his private home and recording/rehearsal spot The Jug. The band had been jamming on the Chorus guitar riff for a couple of weeks, without really knowing how to turn it into a concise song. One night Matt del Rio, came over the Haff’s house with a general feel for a hip-hop track he had, and seamlessly the two parts matched perfectly. Drummer Branden King immediately recorded the beat to the different parts so that Haff could start tracking and making it happen. In the following days bass player, Mat Antoina recorded bass parts, Haff mixed in King’s acoustic drum recording with some drum machines, guitars, and synthesizers. Then one late night Haff and Del Rio completed the verse vocals and quickly came up with the Chorus vocals. Del Rio and Haff are both singing many takes on the Chorus. Mastering was done by friend and drummer of Philly band The Lawsuits, Josh Friedman. Wetbrain fells they are inspired by: Kendrick Lamar, Wu Tang Clan, Chance the Rapper, Outkast, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Cage the Elephant, Sublime, Citizen Cope, Frank Zappa, Pink Floyd, N.E.R.D. and Rage Against the Machine. Wetbrain in addition to “Filter Face” is currently working on their next EP, another single release, and a Live Album from their August performance at Caravan Music Festival in Belgrade, Maine. They are always playing shows in and around Philadelphia and looking for opportunities to work with other artists and musicians. Press: "Combine a funky groove with slick hip-hop verses and reggae rock undertones, and you have “She Bad,” the new single from Philadelphia’s Wetbrain. The band draws well from an eclectic blend of influences on “She Bad,” ranging from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, to Kendrick Lamar and Chance the Rapper. This is Wetbrain’s first collaboration, with the band receiving support on the track from local rappers and friends Rone and Russell Kutys. Together, the artists combine with catchy verses and clever lyrics to make “She Bad” a fun and enjoyable track for the summer." Lehigh Valley Underground
