简介
Manhattan love Bistro is a band put together by vocalist Deborah Dicembre. Collecting the cream of Australia's Jazz musicians, the band played a regular gig that turned into this recording. The results are nothing short of spectacular. Deborah's vocal is fresh, emotional, poetic and as searingly human as it is pitch perfect. 'Who could ask for anything more'! The band members are Dale Barlow ( Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers') on sax and flute, Jonathon Zwartz on bass, Sean Wayland on piano & Fender Rhodes and Gordon Rytmeister on Drums. Sean now based in NYC is well known both in his native Australia & the USA for his great playing and creative genius. Jonathon & Gordon, both based in Australia now, also having played around the world are the first choice of many Jazz musicians touring Australia. The set list consists of 5 standards and 2 originals. Standouts are, 'I Wanna Be Loved' with a sensational vocal backing section written & performed by Dicembre and Lullaby Of Birdland; Barlow's solo flying high. The 2 original tracks are 'Love Is A Poor Man's Drug' by Deborah Dicembre and 'Visby', music by Dale Barlow , lyric by Sean Wayland. It's a track that Dale had previously recorded with 'Wizards Of Oz' , ( Paul Grabowsky, Tony Buck, Llyod Swanton) without a vocal. Sean Wayland, loving the tune had written a lyric and suggested it to Deborah. ' As soon as I heard it I was sold. I knew the piece from the previous album , but Sean's lyric and tone of emotion made it a winner for me'. This CD was recorded in 2 days in Sydney Australia and mixed over a week with the backing vocal overdubs added. Truly a testament to the great talent and sound, found here on Manhattan Love Bistro.
