After a near death experience - wrapping my Toyota 4Runner around a tree at about 100 kph - I spent time meditating and reflecting on a flat rock in a river at a retreat near Mount Buller, Victoria, Australia. "I must have more to do down here." I realized. Not much later a friend asked me as I played her lovely old piano, "Oh, that sounds beautiful. Do you have a cd?" "No." I replied - and looked up the nearest recording studio, Redwood Recording Studio, in Ballarat, Victoria. I booked some time there, lit my tealight candles and my incense, closed my eyes and just let it flow, playing the pictures and moods in my mind. You hear the unedited result of this masterfully recorded 7 foot Yamaha concert grand piano, my own compositions I have developed over the years, with extensive improvisational parts. Live. In the moment. My influences and inspirations have been master pianists like George Winston, Keith Jarrett, and Steven Halpern. My favorite track is Timeless - Meditation in A minor. It evokes to me the vastness of the Australian outback and the beauty of an endless beach like Byron Bay, reflecting the sunset in mirrorlike pools of retreating water, as you can see on the cover. The first track, Lovely Morning, is wonderful for sharing a lovely morning with a friend or lover and relaxing with style. My recommendation: Enjoy this music on a good sound system or with headphones as you spend time in nature, letting go, being in the flow. ;) Time to be in the moment. The time is now.
