All the tracks are based on authentic, ancient Romanian carols about a lion hunt, and are treated here with elements of space music and polyrhythmy. The carols tell the story of a lion coming down from the mountains and causing damages in inhabited areas, and of a youth who seeks it, engages in fight, and brings it tied up in the village, to everyone's admiration. Thus, after having performed this trial and rite of passage, he is a real man, like the young Masai in East Africa, who had to slap a lion to be recognized as men.

"All the world calls him happy,

For he brought the lion tied and unharmed."

On a hypothetical level, this mythological cycle of carols may refer to collective memories about the European cave lion, which lived in the Carpathians area until 10,000 years ago. This interpretation would match similar memories and tales of Native Americans about the mammoth. And on a symbolical level, fighting and subduing the lion and the havoc caused by it may represent the necessary self-control of the real hero.
